a mixture of surfaces from start to end. I will try to separate codes in those cases. Sometimes street alternatives exist. |

| R | Road Bike | Concrete/Asphalt surfaces | ||
| F | Fat Tire | Dirt sections not too rough or rocky - Suspension not required. | ||
| M | Mountain Bike | Dirt sections may be rocky, rough and steep - at least front suspension very helpful | ||
| E | Equestian | Horses may share or cross path in places | ||
| C | Closures | Trail may have seasonal closures for habitat | ||
| X | Break in Trail | Trail currently has a break in it as indicated. | ||

| Horses can be nervous around bicycles, dismount if possible. | ||||
| Regional trails often have posted speed limits that must be observed. | ||||
| Riders going uphill have right of way - keep speed under control especially on corners. | ||||
| Trails may also have gates that need to be closed behind you to keep livestock from straying. | ||||
| You can be ticketed/fined for not observing trail regulations. | ||||
